Simple Week Night Toddler and Family Dinners: Broccoli Cheeseburger Macaroni

By Lindsay

It is just us, or do Mickey Mouse noodles taste better?

Here is another one of my go to meals; hearty and filling, with a simple classic flavor, I consider it picky eater approved. Minimal prep is required to feed to toddlers.

BROCCOLI CHEESEBURGER MACARONI

Ingredients

  • 1 box Annie’s organic macaroni and cheese, flavor and shape of your family’s preference
  • 1 bag of tillamook triple cheddar shredded cheese
  • 1 package of lean ground beef, weight based upon how many people will be served
  • 1 bag of frozen steamable good and gather broccoli

Instructions

  • Steam broccoli in microwave according to instructions on bag.
  • Brown beef until fully cooked. Drain grease when done.
  • Add water to beef pan, wait for water to boil.
  • While water is heating, pour the steamed broccoli onto a plate and cut into toddler safe bites.
  • When the water is boiling, add the noodles and cook for thirteen minutes or until the noodles are very tender, stirring occasionally throughout.
  • When the noodles are done, drain most of the water, leaving a small amount. Add broccoli.
  • Open the cheese sauce packet from the macaroni and cheese box, sprinkling even over the contents of the pan. Add milk and or butter according to your family’s preferences.
  • Turn the stove top to low heat and stir contents until cheese sauce is thoroughly mixed.

Serve

  • Spoon servings into bowls, top with cheese as desired.
